Kathy Grandizio, RPh

Kathy graduated from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science in 1998. While in pharmacy school Kathy worked in hospital, retail and institutional pharmacy. It was then that Kathy realized her love of helping the customer and her passion for retail pharmacy. Upon graduating Kathy took a job with Rite Aid in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Shortly thereafter, a job at Giant Food Stores in Danville came open for a pharmacist and Kathy began her career with Giant which spanned from 1998 to 2006. Kathy also worked part time at Shade Mountain Pharmacy in Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA from 1999 to 2010.

After leaving Giant Kathy went to work for Care Capital Management Medicine Shoppe in Newport, PA. After working for the corporation for five months, Kathy was promoted to Pharmacy Operations Manager for the chain in PA and NY from 2007 to 2009. Although Kathy loved working for Medicine Shoppe, she wanted to come back home to Danville. She liked management, but longed to be back filling prescriptions in a store - as long as it could be her own store. Kathy decided to follow her dream and open her own independent pharmacy in Danville, Pennsylvania - a dream that is a reality today. Kathy hopes to give a positive personal experience to each and every patient she comes in contact with at Danville Pharmacy. She is very appreciative of the warm welcoming response and support that Danville Pharmacy has received since its opening.

In her spare time (ha ha) Kathy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews. She loves to travel, shop and play water sports.

Karen Houseknecht
Certified Pharmacy Technician

Karen has been a pharmacy technician for over 25 years. She became nationally certified in 1998. Karen worked with Kathy and Ashley at Giant Food Stores Pharmacy in Danville for three years. Karen is a people person and loves her customers. Karen goes above and beyond for her customers because she feels that someday she may need someone to help her and she would like to be treated as she has treated others.

Karen lives in Bloomsburg with her husband Paul. She has a daughter Megan and a son-in-law Ian. She loves spending time with her 2 year old grandson Clayton and new granddaughter Julia. Karen is a crafty person. Her hobbies include counted cross stitching, quilting and knitting. Her hands have to be busy all the time. Karen LOVES the Bloomsburg Fair, and you can find her there every year for a whole week.

John Peifer

John graduated from Shikellamy High School in Sunbury, PA. John then attended Wilkes University for three years majoring in Pharmacy. While attending Wilkes, John worked as a pharmacy intern at Giant Pharmacy in Danville with Kathy.

Along with having a passion for helping people and problem solving, John loves to write and play music. John has been with his wife for 14 years and they have three wonderful children.

Ashley Geleskie
Pharmacy Technician

Ashley graduated from Bloomsburg University where she received her bachelor's degree in Organizational Communications. She feels that working with the public for so many years gained her great knowledge and interpersonal skills in her college studies. Ashley has worked in pharmacy since she was a junior in high school at Giant Pharmacy with Kathy and Karen, and all throughout her college career at Rite Aid and Danville Pharmacy. She hopes to continue her career in pharmaceuticals with her degree and experience in the future or whenever a great opportunity arises.

Although Ashley is always working, in her downtime she enjoys spending time at home with her boyfriend Jordan and her dogs.

Susan Dennen
Custodian

Sue has over 35 years experience in the custodial field. She previously worked at Geisinger Health Systems in environmental services and at Red Roof Inn as the head housekeeper. Sue resides in Riverside. She has 2 children and 3 grandchildren whom she loves to spend time with. Sue loves animals and enjoys walking, movies, and dancing. At Danville Pharmacy you often find Sue "the Momma" smiling and laughing with the customers!
